Holistic Mental Health

The Alpine Health Centre adopts a holistic, patient-centered approach that considers the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of individuals, in addition to their mental health. We recognise that different aspects of a person’s life are interconnected and significantly influence their overall health.

Each individual has a unique experience with mental illness, and their path to recovery is shaped by various factors, including their psychosocial disability, age, gender, culture, heritage, language, faith, sexual and gender identity, relationship status, life experience and personal beliefs.

NDIS Support

Credentialed Mental Health Nurses (CMHNs) play a significant role in supporting individuals with psychosocial disability under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). They provide specialised mental health care and work with participants to improve their functional capacity and overall well-being. While the NDIS funds supports for psychosocial disability, it does not fund clinical mental health treatment, which remains the responsibility of the health system.

Mental Health Nurse Practitioners

Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (MHNPs) are registered nurses with advanced training and qualifications in mental health care. They provide a range of services including assessments, diagnosis, treatment and management of mental health conditions. MHNPs can prescribe medications and offer therapeutic interventions.
